Coleman Risk Management

If you employ anyone, however short the period, you have a general duty under section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work Act to ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of your employees at work. There is also a duty towards people who use your premises but are not employees.

The regulations aim to ensure that workplaces meet the health, safety and welfare needs of all members of the workforce, including people with disabilities.

The term ‘workplace’ covers a very wide range of premises including factories, shops, offices, schools, hospitals, hotels and places of entertainment to give some examples. This also includes common parts of shared buildings, private roads and paths on industrial estates and business parks, and temporary worksites (but not construction sites).

How we can help you?

In addition to our insurance broking service the following services are available:

Health and Safety/Risk Management Audit – our consultant will visit your premises and carry out an audit of your current health and safety arrangements which will include a review of risk assessments, health and safety policy and any other supporting documents.

Our audit will also encompass a tour of all areas of the business inside and out to identify any areas where further risk management is required.

A full report with recommendations on a ‘red, amber, green’ basis will then be produced and forwarded to you.

We can provide further assistance to enable you to implement the recommendations such as:

  • Preparing or updating a Health and Safety policy
  • Writing risk assessments
  • Preparing a Driving at Work policy
  • Carrying out Display Screen Assessments
  • Identifying  appropriate health and safety training for your staff

The above list is not exhaustive and we will tailor our service to meet your needs.

We also work with our recommended suppliers to offer you additional specialist services such as:

  • Fire Risk Assessments
  • Fire Warden Training
  • Asbestos Surveys
  • Noise Surveys
  • Thermography
  • Air quality and sampling
  • Legionella Audits
